Everything is supposed to work correctly forever, but certain programs or applications can occasionally create an issue that can only be resolved by resetting or restarting the device. And while people may think that their Apple devices are immune to this problem, they would be incorrect, unfortunately. But it is possible to reset or restart your iPad if there is a problem, even though it might not seem like that is possible. Are you planning to get a new iPhone? Our tutorial on how to hard reset iPhone 11 will show you what to do to clear your data from the old one.

Resetting Your iPad

There’s a reason that the first thing that any technical support person will tell you to do if you have a problem is to reset the device. It might seem obvious if you have ever had to troubleshoot an issue before, but you would be surprised how often that is the solution. On a lot of computers and electronics the power button or switch is clearly indicated but, on the iPad, simply pressing the power button will only lock the screen. Fortunately the method for a reset is actually pretty simply once you know what it is. Step 1: Press the power button on the top of the iPad once to bring up the lock screen. If the iPad is already unlocked, you can skip this step. Step 2: Hold down the power button for five seconds until you see the icon below. Step 3: Slide the white arrow in the red box to the right to turn off the iPad. Step 4: Wait a few seconds until the iPad shuts off completely. Step 5: Hold down the power button on the top of the iPad for three seconds until you see the white apple icon indicating that the device has been powered on.
