The default settings in Outlook 2013 will have it checking your server for new messages every 30 minutes. This will happen automatically with no prompting from the user. But you can manually check for new email in Outlook 2013 with a send and receive button that is accessible on the Home tab at the top of the window. Send and Receive in Outlook 2013

The steps below will teach you how to force Outlook to check your email account for new messages. While checking for new messages from your email server, it will also send any messages that you have composed which have not yet been sent.
